I went to Parliament. I had a meeting with members of the Islamic Republican Party and another group of people from Rafsanjan. I conducted an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency regarding the war in Lebanon and the role of the United States.

Mehdi was also at Parliament. He wanted to go to the Prime Minister's Office shooting range for practice, but was unable to do so.

The Palestinian embassy complained about our media downplaying the role of Palestinians in defending Lebanon. I passed their complaint on to my brother Mohammad. He said that the Fatah organization acts politically and did not even mention Iran's name in its call for help. In the evening, Mr. Khamenei said that Fatah's letter requesting assistance had arrived.

In the afternoon, I had an interview about Martyr Kachouei—with his family who had come to visit—and to offer comfort, I gave a gift to his young daughter and son. We held a meeting with the Cultural Revolution Headquarters, the Prime Minister, the President, and the Ministers of Guidance, Science, and Education. It was agreed that the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution be formed with a specific and strong composition.

I held a meeting with members of the Supreme Judicial Council. The proposals are that, in order to grant the Council full control over the Revolution courts, the post of Prosecutor General of the Revolution be abolished, Mr. [Seyyed Hossein] Mousavi Tabrizi become Head of the General Inspection Organization, Mr. [Seyyed Reza] Zawarei become Tehran Revolution Prosecutor, and Mr. Mohammadi Gilani take up another position.
