I set out for the Majlis at 7:00 AM. Half an hour before the session, I read the reports. The reports indicate that Yasser Arafat has reached an agreement with Western officials regarding the withdrawal of Palestinian fighters from Lebanon, and the Israeli cabinet has discussed the agreed-upon points. If they agree to this, the Palestine Liberation Organization will be seen as compromising and will lose its revolutionary credibility.

Iraq has submitted a proposal to the United Nations to resolve its conflicts with Iran and has initiated a broad political campaign to demonstrate its desire for peace while framing us as warmongers, whereas we have not taken significant political action.

Before the order of the day, I provided an analysis regarding the martyrdom of Mr. Sadooghi and the heinous act of the Hypocrites [Monafeqin]. Two double-urgency bills were passed in the presence of [members of] the Guardian Council.

At noon, opponents of the Minister of Roads came and complained about his inclination to prioritize expertise over commitment. They had no valid arguments. A brother of a martyred Guardsman also came, seeking to exploit the situation for his own benefit. In the afternoon, our ambassador to Greece visited and spoke of the Islamic Revolution's influence on European public opinion. He mentioned that Azodi and Rasouli, SAVAK torturers, are active in Greece.

In the afternoon, a meeting of the Central Council of the Islamic Republic Party was held, where a new organizational scheme for the country's administration was discussed. We were guests of the President for Iftar, with food provided by the Majlis!

At night, I consulted with the President and the Prime Minister regarding current political, economic, military, and other issues.

Late at night, I returned home. I had not yet performed the Maghrib and Isha prayers, so I performed them and listened briefly to the speeches of Mr. Yousef Sanei and Mr. Ahmad Azari [Qomi] on television. I remained awake until pre-dawn; Yaser and Mehdi were watching a film and did not sleep either. I had the pre-dawn meal with the children.
