Mr. [Massoud] Safiri, [Editor-in-Chief of the Akhbar Newspaper] came. He brought several copies of the book "Truths and Expediencies" for me to sign as gifts and mentioned that some had exerted significant pressure to prevent the book's publication. I said that my proposal and emphasis were that it should not be published during the election season, as it could be interpreted as electoral propaganda.

Mr. [Mohammad] Hajazi came. He said that he had been imprisoned six years before the victory of the Revolution and requested that, in recognition of this background, the Ministry of Industries provide him with a vehicle at state price on installment. He also mentioned that he had withdrawn from running for election in Fereydunshahr due to the excessive and unjust propaganda of his rival and did not want to get involved in such publicity. He is teaching at the university.

Mr. [Ahmad] Pishbin, who won in the Baft [Kerman] area, came and said that the city's governor was preventing the announcement of his victory due to animosity toward him. I told Mr. Hossein Marashi, [the representative from Kerman], to look into it. He informed me that he had told [Mr. Masoud Mahmoudi], the governor of [Kerman], to resolve the issues.

The family of martyr [Hossein] Alam al-Huda from Ahvaz came. I greeted them and consoled them, giving each of them a copy of the book "Overcoming Crisis." Mr. [Abbas] Houri from Kerman, [the director of the National Language Institute], came and had suggestions for organizing the memoirs, proposing to include some regular and entertaining topics to occasionally transition the reader from serious matters to lighter ones, to add some flavor to the heavy topics.

Dr. [Abdullah] Jasbi, [the president of Azad University], came. He expressed concern about the political maneuvers of the Second Khordad Forces in the parliament and offered suggestions to prevent them. Mr. Hossein Marashi, [Deputy Secretary-General of the Kargozaran Sazandegi Party], came and reported on the status and number of elected representatives, stating that approximately 70 were from the right wing and around 90 from Kargozaran, with the rest being independent and from the [Mosharekat] party.

In international reports, a Russian oil tanker that had been stopped two weeks earlier by American warships for smuggling oil from Iraq was released after offloading its oil in Oman; the incident caused embarrassment for Russia. The Mir space station also took valuable photographs of one of the significant asteroids belonging to Earth.
