As you are aware, complaints have been submitted by individuals, either individually or jointly, requesting the annulment of one of the directives issued by the Ministry of Interior regarding hijab and chastity, which was communicated to its legal recipients as a classified directive. It appears that there has also been an exchange of briefs with the Ministry of Interior, and the ministry’s response has been attached to the mentioned cases.

Recently, a petition has also been launched, signed by citizens, calling for the General Board of the Administrative Justice Court to expedite the handling of the case, and more signatures are still being collected.

The judiciary, specifically the esteemed judges of the General Board of the Administrative Justice Court, now face a legal request.

Regardless of the fact that the complainants have not referenced other resolutions of the Hijab and Chastity Committee or its confidential and highly confidential circulars and have only focused on one directive, if the office of the General Board of the Court sets a near date for review and issues a proper ruling after further examination of the disputed correspondence, publishing the verdict and its documentation, especially the process leading to the ruling, would resolve many current ambiguities. It would also provide a legal response concerning the position and powers of the Hijab and Chastity Committee.
