I am writing this to declare my firm opposition to a war that has already caused significant damage and casualties, and which, if continued or escalated, could lead to an absolute tragedy and impose immense, avoidable suffering on a people who have no role in this warmongering and are opposed to it.I remind you that you always call yourself an opponent of war, worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize, and you attack your predecessors for involving America in two costly and failed wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. You also speak with pride about ending eight wars in the past year.Nevertheless, you have started a war that not only lacks a UN Security Council resolution but even your traditional allies in Europe, all members of NATO, have refused to join. This is because they consider it lacking in legal and political legitimacy.**Mr. President!**According to the Foreign Minister of Oman—the mediator of the negotiations—Iran’s proposals in the last round of talks in Geneva had made an agreement fully within reach and could have addressed Washington's nuclear concerns. Therefore, it is necessary to answer to the world, and especially to the two nations of Iran and America: Why did you order the attack on Iran during the negotiations? And why, despite repeatedly emphasizing the achievement of set goals and a four-to-six-week timeframe for the war, do you now announce new decisions to bomb civilian targets including power plants, desalination plants, bridges, refineries, and other Iranian infrastructure? You are well aware that such a strategy contravenes international law, violates United States laws, and is considered an inhumane declaration of war against the brave and noble nation of Iran. Furthermore, you must note that the attempt to destroy and turn Iran into a hell turns this recent illegal war into a completely dirty and disastrous one, setting a region on fire and once again fueling anti-American sentiments in Iran and many countries around the world.Surely you know that most Iranians had a positive view of the United States until the illegal intervention of the White House in the dismissal of their popular Prime Minister in 1953. However, after that, the general public saw America as the backbone and supporter of the ruling tyranny and the resulting disorders and corruption in Iran.It is a lesson to be learned that if the coup against Dr. Mossadegh's government had not occurred, the "1979 Revolution" would, in all likelihood, not have happened. In my belief, you are unconsciously bringing about that same change again, especially if you accompany the recent aggression with attacks on Iran's infrastructure and ground operations.**Mr. Trump!**You are certainly aware of the short-term consequences of war, such as the increase in oil and gas prices, rising inflation and recession in many countries, and the heavy losses and casualties for Iran and America. However, I am not sure if your advisors have prepared a comprehensive report for you on the long-term consequences of war in the strategic yet fragile region of the Middle East. In any case, the world understands that the attempt to return Iran to the "Stone Age," regardless of its possibility or impossibility, does not signify the success of the American government in this war; nor does it demonstrate the civility or self-confidence of its officials. On the contrary, it showcases the desperation of the aggressor government and its failure to achieve its goals to the world.**Mr. Trump!**I take this opportunity to remind you that even in the era of colonialism, Iran was one of the few countries that never went under the flag of any foreign government. The distinguishing feature of our nation's liberation struggles from the Constitutional Movement 120 years ago (1906) until now has been the simultaneous rejection of domestic tyranny and foreign domination.Iranians are independence-seeking and freedom-loving; they will defend the integrity of Iran, its territorial sovereignty, and their own dignity and honor under any circumstances. At the same time, they do not tolerate tyranny. In the latest example, during the proud "Woman, Life, Freedom" movement, they liberated the hijab and proved they could claim their rights through civil and non-violent methods without needing foreign military intervention. An intervention that, so far, in addition to bringing suffering and hardship to the people, has had no result other than weakening civil society, the private sector, national development, and the process of transition to democracy in Iran.**Mr. Donald Trump!**You should not have started this illegal war, and now it is necessary to end it as quickly as possible to prevent far greater losses and casualties. Of course, turning to diplomacy is a bilateral duty, and the only way to pass through this catastrophic crisis is to adopt a win-win strategy and strive to reach a comprehensive agreement and a lasting ceasefire. Accordingly, the Iranian side must also do its part by avoiding an "all-or-nothing" view of the conditions to prevent the destruction of our country. This means by yielding to the democratic demands of the majority of the nation and by addressing international concerns regarding its nuclear activities, it should open the way for an honorable agreement. However, the share and responsibility of the American government and its President are far greater, because this illegal, costly, and avoidable war was started by that country's military at your command. Therefore, foresight, humanity, and even American national interests dictate that you, as the initiator of the war, show courage and stop this destructive war today. Stopping this war will benefit everyone, especially the two nations of Iran and America, and will be welcomed by the world. With the hope for a just peace and in memory of all those who lost their lives in the recent war, especially the innocent students of Minab.Seyyed Mostafa TajzadehEvin Prison - April 4, 2026 Take less than a minute, register and share your opinion under this post.Insulting or inciting messages will be deleted.Sign UpComming Up Next I have previously written about this subject under the title "Lie of the 13th" (April Fools' Lie), as well as another note titled "Four Matters That Ayatollah Khamenei Settled During His Lifetime.خواندن 1 minute Has it become clearer?
