Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – March 29, 1982

I started my daily work by studying. Then Mr. [Abd al-Rahim] Gawahi, the new ambassador of Iran in Japan, [Asghar] Nahavandian and Fakhr Rouhani, the ambassadors of Iran in North Korea and Poland, came to meet and say goodbye. Mr. [Syed Mohammad] Ghori [Oil Minister] and a group of his deputies came and gave a report on the domination of the Mujahid people of Afghanistan over the majority of the country's land and the isolation of the government forces and the Soviet army.

In the afternoon, a group of members of the Mujahideen Organization of the Islamic Revolution came and said something about the split in the organization due to the disagreement on the presence of the representative of the jurist, as well as the withdrawal of a group of members, after the Imam's decree prohibiting the membership of partisans in the army and the IRGC. This group believes that they are committed and in line with Imam. The ambassador of Pakistan came to meet. He wanted to develop relations between the two countries. A group of cultural advisors who were recently assigned by the Ministry of [Islamic] Guidance for several countries and were about to travel came. A group of merchants also came who want extensive trade relations with the sheikhs of the Persian Gulf.

After the Maghrib and Isha prayers, I participated in the meeting of the members of the High Council of Propaganda, which was held in the President's office, and we discussed the concentration of propaganda. They insist on remaining non-state. I came home late at night.

There was an announcement from the army and the IRGC to prepare the forces for the next attacks starting at midnight, which was corrected with our opinion. Today, a group of foreign journalists came to Iran at our invitation to see the new conquests.  I wrote the memories of the remaining two days.
