I gave Imam the pamphlet "Arshad al-Jahl" by the late Sheikh Fazlullah Nouri, in which he condemned the constitution. I consulted with him about the future of the war. The Imam is against our entry into Iraq. It was decided to provide financial assistance to the [Supreme] Council of [Islamic] Propaganda. The council owes twenty million tomans.

I stayed at home until three o'clock. I read the book "Economics" until ten o'clock in the morning.  At ten o'clock I went to visit Imam.

In the morning, Efat and the children returned to Iran from their trip to Libya and Syria. Agha Jalal brought them home from the airport. They were satisfied with their trip and especially with the hospitality of Syrians and Libyans.

I went to the parliament at three o'clock. [Colonel Salimi] Minister of Defense came to the meeting and expressed information about the consulting office and the air force. At four o'clock, two hundred and fifty members of the student camp of the Islamic Republic Party came and I spoke for them.

At five o'clock we had a meeting with the members of the headquarters of the cultural revolution, with the presence of the president and the prime minister. The discussion of the meeting was about the limits and criteria for accepting students and professors, which were decided to be within the limits of the reconstruction bill and to prevent excesses.

After Maghrib and Isha prayers, we had a meeting with the presence of twenty people from Qom's academic community in Mr. Khamenei's office. They talked about their concern that un-Islamic left-wing decisions would be taken in economic fields, and we said, you should be sure with that parliament, that Guardian Council, and this imam, but don't expect that the personal tastes of all of you will be respected. We had dinner there. It was also discussed about the assembly of experts and the implementation of the inspection opinions of the whole country. I came home at half past eleven.
