Early in the morning, the body of Martyr Chamran had been brought to Parliament for the funeral procession. I offered my condolences to his family. During the public session, the credentials of Mr. Behrouzieh, the representative from Kalibar, were discussed. His credentials were not approved. We adjourned the session to take part in the funeral procession for the martyrs.

The body of Mr. [Mohammad-Taqi] Kamalinia, the representative from Quchan, who had been killed the previous day in the collapse of the roof of Nasiri Stadium, was also brought in. A huge crowd had gathered for the funeral procession. I spoke a few words, and the crowd set off. I returned to my office.

The Le Monde correspondent, Éric Rouleau, came and interviewed me about Mr. Bani-Sadr’s removal, the presidential election, and other matters.

In the afternoon, I attended the memorial service for Dr. Martyr Chamran, held by Parliament at Martyr Motahari Mosque. Mr. Khamenei delivered the speech.

Early in the evening, I attended the Supreme Defense Council as a representative on the Provisional Presidential Council. Mr. Fallahi described the situation on the fronts and the plans for the future; it was satisfactory. We made some decisions.

Late at night, we attended the weekly consultation meeting with Mr. Khamenei, Beheshti, Bahonar, Rajai, and Behzad Nabavi, and made some decisions. We also held a meeting of the Presidential Council. Decisions were made concerning future affairs, the presidential election, and other matters. I spent the night at the Prime Minister’s Office.
