The spokesman for the jury of the political and press courts announced that Gholamhossein Karbaschi, the editor-in-chief of the Hammihan newspaper, had been charged with insulting the Prophet Ayyub and degrading his character following a complaint filed by the deputy prosecutor of Tehran.
In a cartoon published on October 17 of this year, in response to the government spokesman's statements about the need for patience to solve the problems of the internet and filtering, Ham Mihan used a picture of Prophet Ayyub (a.s.).
After hearing the defense of the defendant and his lawyer, the jury found the editor-in-chief of Ham Mihan newspaper guilty by a majority of votes, but unanimously found him entitled to a commutation.
