In the investigations carried out by the police, it was found that some importers hoard the cleared meat in cold stores and refuse to supply it in order to make more profits.
Hoarding and storing goods and commodities in order to make more profit is a crime. During a visit to cold storages in Tehran, Fars, Isfahan and Zanjan provinces, 14,300 tons of meat were discovered.
The investigation found that 24 tons of these meats were rotten and expired, and the other 140 were in poor condition due to poor storage conditions.
