According to the Etemad newspaper, at least 137 cases of femicide occurred in Iran last year (2024).
According to the report, in the first six months of last year, at least 78 women and girls were murdered by men close to them, and in the second six months of 2024, at least 59 women and girls, most of whom were killed by their husbands.
According to the Etemad newspaper, in the first half of 2024, there were 8 femicides in April, May 6, May 1, June, July 8, July 4, August, August 12, and September, respectively.
Also, in the second half of 2024, there were 9 femicides in October, November 26, November 6, December, December 26, January, 10, February, February 5, and March.
