دیوان عالی کشور حکم اعدام رهبر «حرکة النضال» را تأیید کرد

The complete statement from the Supreme Court's Public Relations Office reads:

"Habib Farajollah Chaab, also known as 'Habib Asyoud,' the leader of the terrorist group 'Harakat al-Nidhal,' has been found guilty based on the evidence and his own confessions of orchestrating multiple terrorist operations against civilians. One such operation was the attack on the military parade in Ahvaz on September 22, 2018, which resulted in the martyrdom of 25 citizens, including a child, and the injury of 249 others.

The 'Harakat al-Nidhal' group, under Chaab's leadership, carried out other deadly terrorist actions against the security of the Iranian people, including bombings of government facilities and armed robberies. Collectively, the group's terrorist actions have led to the martyrdom or injury of 274 Iranian citizens.

Chaab, the last of the group's leaders to be captured, was apprehended through the intelligence efforts of Iran's security forces after leaving Sweden, where he had lived for years and benefited from the country's resources and security services.

Following his arrest, extensive investigations were conducted, and an indictment was issued. Numerous court sessions were held, attended by the defendant, his lawyers, and the families of the victims.

The court found the defendant guilty based on the evidence and sentenced him to death. After an appeal by Chaab's lawyers, the case was thoroughly reviewed by the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court, in its ruling, stated: 'In the appeal submission by the defense attorney, no argument was found that would invalidate the basis of the original verdict. The court's decision is consistent with legal and Sharia-based standards, and the defendant's actions align with the crimes of leading a rebellious group as defined by Articles 130 and 287 of the Islamic Penal Code. Therefore, based on Section A of Article 469 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the original verdict is confirmed and upheld.'

As a result of this Supreme Court ruling, Chaab's death sentence has been finalized and is now definitive."
