We have granted too many concessions to the Taliban.

In its editorial today, the Jomhouri Islami newspaper stated:
"If the Taliban representative considers music to be forbidden, he should have covered his ears instead of remaining seated."

The disrespect shown by the Taliban envoy during the Islamic Unity Conference, by not standing during the national anthem of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the conference's opening session on Thursday, September 29, in Tehran, fully aligns with the nature of this group and should not come as a surprise.

The claim that the Taliban representative did not stand during the national anthem due to his belief in the prohibition of music is an unjustifiable excuse that would even make newly grieving mothers laugh. The Taliban representative possesses enough understanding to realize that the prohibition of music (if we assume the national anthem of the Islamic Republic is forbidden music) does not absolve him from standing, especially since this individual did not cover his ears while the anthem was played!
