The Supreme Disciplinary Court of Judges confirmed the validity of the elections for the ninth term of the Board of Directors of the Kurdistan Bar Association, which had been annulled by the Supervisory Board of the Association.
The elections for the ninth term of the board of directors of the Kurdistan Bar Association were held on February 28, 2025, with 13 candidates competing at the Bar Association's premises, and after protesting these results and after recounting the votes, the decision of the Election Supervisory Board of the ninth term of the Kurdistan Bar Association to annul the elections of this bar was published.
However, following a complaint by six lawyers against the decision of the Election Supervisory Board to annul the election of the Kurdistan Bar Association, the First Branch of the Supreme Disciplinary Court of Judges has accepted the complaint and confirmed the validity of the elections for the ninth term of the Board of Directors of the Kurdistan Bar Association.
