In the evening, I spoke at the Hezbollah [parliament] meeting. About the war in the Persian Gulf, the mobilization of forces, negotiations with the UN Secretary General, order in parliament meetings, observing ethics and politics in dealings and answering questions; I think it was useful. I did the work in my office until eight o'clock and read the reports. The fronts are calm and the world is waiting for the results of the UN Secretary General's trip.

I did not participate in the meetings of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution and [the community of] militant clergy [in Tehran]. I went home. Mr. Riazi came in the afternoon to report on the purchase of arms and to discuss a trip to the Soviet Union - recently invited privately to negotiate the future of Iraq.
