Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – April 30, 2003

In the morning, I went from home to [Imam Khomeini] mosque in Tehran;  To visit and check the readiness of Mosla to move the Friday prayer ceremony from Tehran University to there.  Mohsen and Mahdi were also there. Mr. [Hossein] Alaei, [Project Manager of Tehran Mosla] and [Parviz] Moayed [Ahed], [Professor of Architecture at University of Tehran and Mosla Designer], gave explanations and we visited the Shabestan Dome, the porch and the porticoes under construction;  It is magnificent. 
The inner diameter of the dome is 90 meters and it has a total of about 250 thousand square meters of building, which will be added in the next phases.  So far, about 27 billion Tomans have been spent and about 50 billion Tomans are needed to be completed.  North Shabestan is ready for Friday prayers.  We decided to specify the transfer time.  Two metro stations in the south and north have a special way into Mosla, and cars can also enter and park inside Mosla.  It also has a good green space.  I had an interview with Sedavasima about Mosla and Iraq.   
I went to my office.  Mr. Dr. [Ahmed] Siyadati, the secretary of the association of pediatricians, came and explained about the seminar that I am going to open on Saturday.  Mr. Hamid Mojtahedi, [CEO of Neishabur Cultural Complex], came from the Khorasani Akhund family.  He appreciated the visit I made to his father's village during my trip to Nishabor, after which the road was paved.  He said about being in debt.  Apply for a loan.
America is still under the pressure of public opinion for killing people in Mosul and Fallujah.  Today, three more people were killed in Fallujah and it is expected that these clashes will continue.  A statement has been published in the name of Saddam [Hussein], inviting the people to fight against the occupiers, and another news says that in two days, another statement will be published with his signature.  It is possible that the Americans are publishing these news to scare the Iraqi people from the possibility of the return of Saddam and the Baath party, so that the dissatisfied people will take refuge in the United States.
[British Prime Minister] Tony Blair went to Russia to get [Vladimir] Putin's cooperation, but [Russian President] Putin has said that he will not agree to lift the sanctions on Iraq, unless it is officially proven that there are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. 
With [Donald] Rumsfeld, [US Secretary of Defense]'s visit to Saudi [Arabia] and meeting with [Sultan bin Abdulaziz], Saudi Minister of Defense, it was announced that the US military will be transferred from Saudi Arabia to Qatar;  Except for some training.  [Tony] Blair has said in an interview that he has no objection to the establishment of an Islamic government in Iraq if the people want it, but America has officially opposed it.
Yesterday, the Palestinian parliament approved Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen's cabinet at the request of the United States, and in an interview, he called the acts of martyrdom anarchy, but the Palestinian Mujahideen killed four Zionists and injured 35 people with martyrdom operations this morning - once in the heart of Tel Aviv and near the American embassy.  America also submitted the peace plan (Roadmap). 
Today, Libya officially accepted responsibility for the Lockerbie incident and must pay billions of dollars in compensation.  One of the American officials strongly attacked Iran and clearly said that Iran is actively trying to build nuclear and chemical weapons.  Iran has also rejected his words. 
Oil is gradually becoming cheaper.  Iran's oil reached about 22 dollars per barrel, which is lower than the price mentioned in the 2012 budget.
