The news arrived that Iraq has bombed the Ahvaz rolling mill. Some people have been martyred and injured, and the facilities have been damaged. I told the air force commander to retaliate. In the evening, in the presence of the members of the committee, we had the program and budget of the board. It was proposed to give additional help to the representatives to compensate for the needs, but it was not approved.
On the first night, Mr. [Masih] Mohajeri, who is in charge of the Islamic Republic newspaper, came and was worried that the newspaper would be taken or its font would be changed. He informed that in the last meeting of the [Islamic Republic] party's central council, instead of engineer [Mirhossein] Mousavi and [Abul Qasim] Sarhadizadeh - who are absent a lot - Ali al-Badl was invited. I asked engineer Mousavi to come to the party and he was accepted. Mr. Prime Minister and Mr. Mousavi Ardabili were my guests for dinner in the parliament. Mr. Ahmad Agha and Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei were not traveling. We discussed and exchanged opinions about national issues until half past eleven.
