In the afternoon, Ahmad Aqa came, and we consulted on Mr. [Seyyed Kazem] Shariatmadari and other issues. At night, I listened to the television news and studied the reports. Some of the Hezbollahis called and asked for an explanation regarding my protest against the slogans "Death to the unveiled."

I studied until 10:00 AM. I went to [Tehran] University for the Friday prayers. The sermons were delivered on the spoils of war (Anfal), the war, and Pasdar Day; I asked the people to remove "Death to Bani-Sadr," "Death to Bazargan," and "Death to the unveiled" from their slogans, and I warned about the conspiracy to convene the UN Security Council to tie our hands. Colonel [Ali] Sayyad [Shirazi] also presented a report on the war. At noon, all of my guards were our guests, and we took photos together; they had asked to have lunch with me.
