Iranian insurance managers came.  Mr. [Syed Mohammad] Abbaszadegan, the head of insurance, reported and said that the judiciary and part of the insurance forces oppose the privatization of insurance and announced the rapid growth of insurance.  I spoke about the necessity of developing insurance, stock exchange and banking for economic prosperity and development. 
Mr. [Mohammedreza] Rahimi, the former governor of Kurdistan, came.  He insisted a lot, for the necessity of accepting participation in the upcoming presidential elections, which I did not accept, and he said about corruption in the judiciary;  including the case of lands in the north and around Evin prison. 
Ms. Lili Boroujerdi, [member of the legal commission of the expediency recognition assembly secretariat] came.  He, who is a lawyer, said that bribery is prevalent in the courts.  He asked about the recompense for women whose husbands die. 
In the evening, Mr. [Gholamreza] Aghazadeh, [head of the Atomic Energy Organization] came and gave a report on the deliberations of the Board of Governors of the [International] Atomic Energy Agency and the discussions he had in response to their questions about Iran's nuclear policy and said that almost all European countries, Russia, America, etc. express concern.  He predicts that after the meeting of the Council of Governors next month, if we do not accept [Additional Protocol] 93+2, the possibility of referring the case to the [UN] Security Council is high. He gave a report on the progress of the Natanz, Isfahan and Arak sites and said that with the arrival of the agency experts to Natanz, we have made good technical use of them.
Mr. [Sidreza] Neiri, the head of the Imam Relief Committee, informed by phone that he went to the site of Sedkarkheh and was deeply affected by this great service and said that the people of the region are deeply grateful. 
The debate over the investigation and investigation [of Parliament] continues.  The speaker of the parliament criticized Mr. [Ali] Larijani's interpretations, [the head of the Broadcasting Organization], who said that the report of the parliament is fake, although Mr. Larijani apologized for that interpretation.  The parliamentarians are upset that they have not been able to convince the Guardian Council to convene a meeting of understanding on the twin bills, and they are repeating the talk of resignation or referendum. Mr. [Syed Mohammad] Khatami, [President], has traveled to Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Bahrain.
Mr. [Syed Mohammad Baqer] Hakim, [Speaker of the Supreme Assembly of the Islamic Revolution] arrived in Najaf today after passing through Samawa and Diwaniye and was widely welcomed by the people.  The interpretations of Westerners and Arabs show their concern about the presence of the Supreme Council in Iraq. 
The US military base in Baghdad was attacked with RPG.  [Paul] Bremer, [Chief Executive of the Coalition Provisional Government of Iraq] arrived in Baghdad and Ms. Barbara Bodine, [Deputy US Ambassador to Baghdad] returned to the United States.
