خاطرات اکبر هاشمی - ۷ فروردین ۱۳۸۱

The Japanese ambassador came. He said, "Experts believe that since the beginning of the revolution, your opinion on important issues in Iran has been and is decisive and they expect it now."

The Japanese ambassador came. He said, "Experts believe that since the beginning of the revolution, your opinion on important issues in Iran has been and still is decisive, and now they expect you to solve the current unfavorable situation," adding that the Japanese people, who have been subjected to the atomic bombardment of the United States, know the United States better than anyone else, and Iran should not put itself in danger of the United States.

In a calm environment, Iran can become a domestic, regional and global power, and you should not miss this opportunity.

Full text of the diary:

[Mr. Ali Mahmoud Maria], the Libyan ambassador, came and said that the proposal of [Muammar Gaddafi], the leader of Libya, at the Amman summit of the Arab League, to return all five million Palestinian refugees by the Arabs, has not been followed up by the Arabs, and that in the current meeting in Lebanon, if the plan of Amir Abdullah [Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia] is unconditional on the right of return of all the refugees, it is treason, and Colonel Gaddafi will not participate because of the protest against the non-follow-up of his proposal. He said that the conviction of one of the Libyan officials in the International Court of Justice in The Hague was done under pressure from the United States and is cruel.I said, I had already sent a message to Mr. Gaddafi so that he would not be deceived. He said, "We have accepted the mediation of Saudi Arabia and Egypt."

He said, "Experts believe that since the beginning of the revolution, your opinion on important issues in Iran has been and is decisive, and now they expect you to solve the current unfavorable situation," he said, adding that the Japanese people, who have been subjected to the atomic bombardment of the United States, know the United States better than anyone else, and Iran should not put itself in danger of the United States. In a calm environment, Iran can become a domestic, regional and global power, and you should not miss this opportunity.

I asked him how the Japanese people felt about the recent threat of an atomic bomb by the United States and Britain. He said, "The axis of American foreign policy in this region is Israel, and when I was completing a year of strategic course at the American University, the issue of why the United States used atoms in Japan was raised." After reviewing, the result was that the U.S. casualties in the war with Japan gradually increased and reached close to one. These losses were unbearable for the Americans, and they ended the war with the atom. Even today, Israel's casualties are increasing compared to the Palestinian casualties, and recently they have reached one and a half and a half, and it is not tolerable for Israel and the United States.

I said that it has nothing to do with Iran, the Palestinians themselves are fighting, and if the issue of Palestinian refugees is not resolved, martyrdom-seeking forces will be added regularly. I asked him not to reduce his cooperation with Iran under the pressure of the United States, as happened in the Bandar Imam petrochemical plant and the Karun Dam.He said that when it was agreed to provide a loan for the dam, he went to Israel himself and the Israelis strongly objected to this Japanese aid.

In the evening, Mr. Mohsen Rezaei [the secretary of the Expediency Council] came and said that the danger of the United States is serious and there is no preventive action inside the country.

Today, the Arab summit started in Beirut, but only nine Arab heads of state are present, and 12 presidents have not come, and they have come at a lower level. In Lebanon itself, there is a disagreement between these officials and ministers over the management and priority of the summit's affairs. Israel also did not allow [Yasser] Arafat, [the president of the Palestinian Authority], to participate in the summit, and Arafat's satellite message was supposed to be read at the opening, but it was not read, and the Palestinian delegation left the summit in protest against the lack of reading of the message.

The death toll from the earthquake in Afghanistan is increasing. The interior minister said the death toll exceeded 3,000. At the same time, a new U.S. war against the Taliban has begun in southeastern Afghanistan.
