From unnecessary and inefficient barriers to Iran's delayed climate to ignore native knowledge

javan Online: Today Iran is faced with an unprecedented crisis in the field of water;  A crisis that cannot be attributed to the reduction of rainfall or climate change.  For many years, executive decisions and water policies have not been in line with the country's climatic realities.

From unnecessary and inefficient barriers to Iran's overwhelming climate to ignoring indigenous knowledge such as aqueduct and traditional water division system, water resources management is based on developmental development, not biological sustainability.

Pedram Jedi Chardah, Deputy Director of Tehran Municipality's Environment, in an interview with the young newspaper, said:

"There is no difference between the era of drought and drought in the type of water resources.  "We have worsened the status of water resources with our own hands."

Charda warns that the construction of a dam in a country with an evaporation rate is a strategic mistake that has rapidly evaporated water and disrupted underground aquifers.  He even suggests that "perhaps in the policy structure of the country, there has been an influence" and that the dam is deliberately set as a symbol of development.

In the field of agriculture he also says:

"Our agriculture is neither scientific, nor economic nor climate.  "About 2 to 5 percent of the country's water is consumed in this sector, but the pattern of cultivation and seed has not yet been widespread."

The structural disregard for the environment, he said, has consequences such as drying up wetlands, destruction of vegetation, increased microbes and climate migration, and now the water crisis has gone beyond an environmental issue and has become a social, health and even security issue.

Explicit conclusion of this expert:

"People must participate, but the principle of crisis is rooted in the defective structure of policy making.  The way out of the water crisis is possible only by structural reforms and the bold and bold decisions of the authorities.  What we really need today is the right gentlemen's decisions! "
