The open session began at eight in the morning. Before the agenda, I spoke about the bombing of residential areas in Ilam and thanked the people for their good resistance, like the people of Dezful. The bill on councils for villages, districts, towns, cities, provinces, and neighborhoods was on the agenda, and 12 articles were approved. Two questions were raised with the Minister of Interior. The toothache continued to bother me.

Some members of the Isfahan IRGC Command Council came and complained about Mr. [Jalal al-Din] Taheri, the Friday prayer leader, and his associates, and sought a solution. The head of IRGC security also came and consulted about the security plan. In the evening, Mr. Moghaddasian, the Friday prayer leader of Mahallat, came and complained about Mr. Mahallati and Mr. Tavassoli Mahallati, and sought a solution.

They called from Yazd, saying that it is necessary for the family of the martyred Sadoughi to allow Mr. [Seyyed Ruhollah] Khatami Ardakani to hold Friday prayers at the Hazireh Mosque; for security reasons, it is necessary that it be held there. Champion athletes came, and I gave a speech for them, encouraged them, and they took pictures. Mr. [Nasrollah] Bahrami also came and sought help to resolve problems. The landlord came and demanded privileges for the house he had taken in front of our residential house. To ensure that he would move away from the Imam's residence for security reasons, they gave him a house that is said to be better than his own, and he has rented this place to us.

Iftar was at Mr. Fakhreddin Hejazi's house. The toothache would not leave me in peace. At night, I stayed at the Parliament and, due to the toothache, could not eat a proper pre-dawn meal. I was supposed to go to Mr. Khamenei's house on the occasion of Mr. Montazeri's presence, but I did not go because of the toothache. We held the first meeting of the new Presiding Board and made some decisions.
