Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – February 4, 1984

I was at home all day. I used to study until half past nine in the morning. A meeting of the Board of Directors of Sedavsima was held. The snowfall continued from last midnight until seven o'clock in the evening. There was a discussion about the propaganda of the war and the axis of the future propaganda of the operation. Saddam's adventure has made the work of informing easier. The possibility of a multilateral attack by Türkiye and Pakistan and the Persian Gulf was raised with the American plan. It does not exceed the limit of speculation and rumor; But we must prepare ourselves for such a day. America may not tolerate our victory in the war and may even try to invade directly or through these agents. Maybe they will adopt a soft policy in the assumption of victory.

Mr. Shirazi and [Mohammed Ali] Zam from the Islamic Propaganda Organization also participated in the meeting. They wanted technical facilities and working tools for the artistic works of the organization from the radio station. It was decided that they should do the accepted work of their radio and television with monitoring and radio and television facilities and in other cases they would use additional radio and television facilities.

Ahmad Agha also participated in the meeting and had comments about the programs. Decisions were made regarding the supervision of plans and programs. On the first night, Ahmad Agha called and worried that the 22 Bahman ceremony would be held in Azadi Square, that not enough people would come because of the threats from Iraq. Because we have a parade of military forces, there is no other choice.
