Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – December 22, 1992

There was good snow in Jamaran last night, but the weather is not too cold. I reached my office at half past eight in the morning. The governor of Bushehr came. He reported the situation of the province and the needs and asked me to travel to Bushehr and help in the second [five-year] plan.

Dr. [Mustafa] Moin, [Minister of Culture and Higher Education] and directors of the Cultural Heritage Organization came. They gave a report on the work and progress and expressed concern about the talk of its abstraction and integration in the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

Mohsen [Hashmi, head of the President's Special Inspection Office] came with Mr. Jafari and Mr. [Manochehr] Loggi from Missile Industries. They gave a report on the progress of rocket missiles with solid fuel and technology transfer of solid fuel from China and asked for help to implement the project.

In the evening, the governor of [Kermanshah=] Bakhtran came. He gave a report on the state of the province and the backwardness in terms of investment and employment, and requested for the prosperity of the province in the second plan. He also announced the establishment of an agreement with most of the representatives of the province who were involved in the past.

Mr. [Mohsen] Araki, Imam of Dezful Friday came. He had notes about the country and asked Sheikh Ansari for the cultural and sports facilities of Dezful and the organization of the Congress. I did the work until half past seven and came home. Dr. [Hassan] Habibi, [First Vice President], consulted on the phone for the points of the memorandum that they are supposed to have with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.
