Final Draft of a Book on War Based on Martyrs and Veterans

Meeting with Hassan Khomeini and Report on Confusion Surrounding the Organization of the Conference Supporting the Intifada, as Well as an Inquiry About the Meeting of the Heads of Government with Ayatollah Khomeini Regarding the Non-Publication of the Letter Dated March 26, 1989 to Ayatollah Montazeri

It should be noted that in a letter dated Sunday, March 26, 1989, Ayatollah Khomeini dismissed Ayatollah Montazeri, the then-acting Leader, while raising important criticisms. Legally, Ayatollah Montazeri had been elected by the Assembly of Experts for Leadership, and only the representatives of the Assembly could remove him if necessary.

This process was similar to the Assembly of Experts meeting held before Ayatollah Khamenei's election for his dismissal and acceptance of resignation on June 4, 1989. That evening, Ayatollah Khomeini's office requested Mr. Hashemi and Mr. Khamenei to deliver the letter to Ayatollah Montazeri in Qom. Additionally, the Assembly of Experts convened and, at Ayatollah Khomeini's directive, decided on the dismissal.

To this end, Mr. Khamenei, Mr. Moshkini, Mr. Amiri, Mr. Momen, and Mr. Taheri Khormabadi organized a meeting in Mr. Hashemi's office. In that meeting, the aforementioned individuals concluded that delivering such a stern letter to Ayatollah Montazeri and convening the Assembly of Experts would not be advisable.

Consequently, on the night of April 7, 1989, the mentioned individuals, with the exception of Mr. Momen and Mr. Taheri, went to see Ayatollah Khomeini and ultimately sought to refrain from sending the letter. According to Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini, at least the issue of denying justice from the letter should be removed. Ayatollah Khomeini agreed only to not release the letter to the media and to remove the issue of denying justice.

However, this letter was published in the media in 1997, and in 2001, ambiguities related to the original letter were raised in reformist media outlets.

Watching the series "Valayat-e Eshq," a television series directed by Mehdi Fakhimzadeh, which aired on Channel One in 2000.

Complete Daily Record:

I was at home. I spent a significant amount of time reviewing the final draft of a book I prepared regarding the war and my statements about martyrs and other veterans.

In the afternoon, Haj Hassan Khomeini came. He reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Khatami, the President, were opposed to holding the conference supporting the Intifada, but the members of parliament insisted on it. He asked for clarification regarding the meeting that took place on April 6, 1989, with Mr. Khamenei, Mr. Ali Moshkini, Mr. Ibrahim Amiri, and Ahmad Agha, concerning Ayatollah Khomeini's stern letter to Ayatollah Montazeri.

In the afternoon and evening, the children and relatives were here. We watched the series "Valayat-e Eshq" in the evening. Criticism of the Leader's statements, as well as Mr. Khatami's remarks during the conference supporting the Intifada, continues in some newspapers and Western media, and Israel is angry. The United States has announced it will sell advanced weapons to Taiwan and has threatened China that if it resorts to military action against Taiwan, it will face a military response from the U.S., even though the U.S. considers Taiwan part of China.

The central computer of the International Space Station has malfunctioned, and communication with its ten crew members is only possible through the "Endeavour" spacecraft. Yesterday and today, seven Palestinians were martyred by Israel, and a large number were injured, yet Israel has announced that work permits for 11,000 Palestinians inside Israel have been issued, which is a form of appeasement.
