At eight o'clock in the morning, I went to Parliament. Mr. Mohammad-Mahdi Karami, representative of Dasht-e Azadegan, had points regarding the needs of the war-displaced and the travel document (Tazkereh) issues of Iranians residing in Kuwait. Messrs. Qasemi and Karimi, representatives of Sari and Nowshahr, came and [raised] points regarding regional problems, and I put them in touch with the Minister of Agriculture.
I spoke with Mr. [Ali] Qoddusi regarding replacing the Prosecutor of Qom and the case of [Hassan] Behrouziyeh. It was agreed that instead of executing the arrest warrant, Mr. Behrouziyeh himself would report to the prosecutor's office. He is accused of fraud, and his credentials have not yet been approved. [Mr. Qoddusi] said that, at the Imam's request, they have decided to replace the Prosecutor of Qom.
We had two hours of the Bylaws Committee. In the afternoon, I held a press conference and then [met with] representatives of the Islamic Associations of Tehran University Students, who had brought a plan for the Cultural Revolution and criticized the Cultural Revolution Headquarters' underperformance and their flawed understanding of the Cultural Revolution.
A few police (Shahrbani) personnel came and protested the actions of Colonel Vahid [Dastjerdi], the new chief of Police, but they did not have sound logic.
At early night, the sound of anti-aircraft guns rang out at Parliament, but later they said there was no attack and that the guns had been fired without cause.
