پیام سید محمد خاتمی به مناسبت درگذشت کارگردان پیشکسوت سینمای ایران استاد ناصر تقوایی

Nasser Taghvaei, researcher, writer, filmmaker, and creative artist, passed away and regretted his death.

In the name of the Merciful God

Researcher, writer, cinematographer and creative artist Nasser Taqvai closed his eyes to the world and left the hearts of lovers of Iran, literature and culture with the longing to see and benefit from his outstanding and magnificent works.

He is rightly regarded as one of the most effective characters and forces in the trend of, if not vulgar, at least contentless and even bad Persian films;  He became the founder of the new wave of thought-provoking Iranian cinema.

Although his published literary and cinematographic works are not very many, they are very valuable and are the capitals of the literature, art and culture of Iran, and his half-finished or stopped works, if not more than his published works, are not less, and one must ask why these capitals have remained far from the reach of the society, either in the past regime or in the new system, and to what extent this deprivation was due to the system and organization of management, politics and culture of the society?  And to what extent is the result of strictness and problem-friendliness of Master Taqwai himself?  This is a question that the critics of the field of culture, literature and art, and of course the officials and those involved in the affairs, including ourselves, must have the courage and power to answer and the collections that work in the field of culture, art and politics should take advice from these events and change the situation for the benefit of dear Iran and freedom and thinking.

We honor the memory of Ustad Taqwai and we offer our condolences to all the people of culture, literature and art, especially to his family and relatives, and we pray for the happiness of his soul from the almighty God.

Seyyed Mohammad Khatami
