I stayed home all day and mostly read. Mr. [Seyyed Mahmoud] Doaei came before noon and gave a report on Kurdistan and West Azerbaijan. They informed us from Imam's residence with concern that the Imam's blood pressure had risen, so I went there worried. Dr. [Hassan] Arefi was present and said that the Imam had returned to his normal condition and the concern had been resolved. The Imam was asleep, and they said that I felt tightness and pressure in my chest and sat up.

At noon, the commanders of the Revolutionary Guards came and gave a detailed report on Operation Muharram and future plans. It became clear that so far we had suffered five hundred and thirty martyrs and that the successes were great and the point was very sensitive; they gave an account of the new organization of the Revolutionary Guards - that divisions, corps, and the army had been established. Early in the evening, Mr. Zabihi, the principal of the children's school, came. Ahmad Aqa also came and had some things to say about the Foundation of the Oppressed and other matters. My brother Mohammad was a guest for the night, and late at night Mr. [Seyyed Mohammad] Gharazi came and was upset that the Supreme Judicial Council had objected to the agreements of the special commission concerning disputes with foreign parties, and he gave a report on the work.
