 According to Bloomberg, US President-elect Donald Trump is expected to pardon more than 1,000 convicts in the Capitol riot case. Democrats and the Biden administration have accused Trump of supporting the insurrection, but the former and future president has denied the allegations.

Trump had previously announced that he would pardon those convicted in the case.

The confirmation hearing of the US presidential election on January 6 of this year is classified as a "special security event" and will be held under the direct supervision of the US Secret Service.
