US President Donald Trump wrote in Truth: Negotiations with Russia/Ukraine are ongoing. The United States, ideally, wants an unconditional 30-day ceasefire. It is hoped that an acceptable ceasefire will be established and that both countries will be held accountable for respecting the sanctity of these direct negotiations. If the ceasefire is not observed, the United States and its partners will impose additional sanctions.
Thousands of young soldiers are dying every week, and everyone should want this process to stop. I do, and so do the United States of America.
As president, I will remain committed together with the Europeans to ensuring peace between Russia and Ukraine, and that will be a lasting peace! This ceasefire should ultimately lead to a peace agreement. All of this is done very quickly, and if my services are needed, I will be available immediately.
