Currently, the import of iPhones is not officially banned, and according to the law on freedom and dissemination of information, as well as the ethical principles governing the country’s management, any restrictions imposed should be communicated to citizens to prevent violations of their rights and financial harm.
Abdollah Abdi Media has received numerous reports that travelers, upon entering the country, register their phones along with their passports and personal details at the airport customs. However, while they have a month to pay the customs duties for their iPhones on the Iran Customs website and receive an activation SMS from the Hamta website, they are unable to register the phone's serial number and make the payment.
Customs refers this issue to the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Trade, and the Anti-Smuggling Headquarters, and they in turn refer it back to Customs!
In the meantime, the one-month period for travelers and buyers of iPhones expires, and naturally, they cannot access network services from operators.
Who will be held responsible for their substantial financial losses?
It is expected that Mr. Khodayian, the head of the Inspection Organization, will assign inspectors to address this issue.
A growing number of people are facing this problem, and the Inspection Organization, given its responsibilities, should prevent this lawlessness and damage to private property.
