The presidency and the story of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture of Iran have entered a new phase of power struggle, albeit of a different kind.

With the issuance of an indictment order by the investigator and the prosecution's formal charges by the deputy prosecutor of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office of Tehran, Hossein Salehvand is currently on trial in the Revolutionary Court of Tehran for insulting Ayatollah Khomeini and Ayatollah Khamenei.

It remains to be seen what ruling Branch 29 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran will deliver, and what decisions and judicial processes will follow.

Is it the intention to have Hossein Salehvand convicted and imprisoned based on judicial sentences, resolving this legal, political, and security dispute of the Chamber in such a manner?

Without passing judgment on the details of the charges and trial of Hossein Salehvand and acknowledging the limited legal powers of Mohseni Ejei as the head of the judiciary to delve into the details of cases, particularly at the investigative stage and during court proceedings, it is expected that the context and circumstances surrounding this trial will also be considered by the senior judicial authorities and the presiding judge.

This awareness is crucial to avoid any perception that the ongoing legal and security disputes within the Iran Chamber are being reflected in this case, particularly in light of the potential removal of the Chamber's president due to trial and conviction on these charges, followed by confirmation and affirmation in the Tehran Court of Appeals, especially in specific Branches 36 or 54, along with other legal issues and cases involving Salehvand.

As I previously noted regarding the Iran Chamber:

I hope that the judges of the First Branch of the Administrative Justice Court will address the complaint and petition submitted by the Chamber for a ruling and notification to the Supreme Supervisory Council, ensuring that the status of the Iran Chamber is clarified entirely legally rather than through such controversies.
