When Poverty Takes on a Female Face: Warning Signs of Rising Unemployment Among Women Workers

“These days, we see people who are struggling even to buy bread.

The current crisis is not limited to a single factory or one city.

In many parts of the country, women workers are the first group to be pushed out of the workplace with even the slightest economic crisis.

Unemployment does not only mean the loss of income; it directly targets psychological security and family stability.

When the breadwinner loses their job, the entire family enters a cycle of hardship.

Many women do not even know where they should turn if they become unemployed.

When a large portion of women — especially female heads of households — work in informal jobs, they become more vulnerable to economic shocks.

Lack of contracts, lack of insurance, and unstable incomes mean that even the smallest economic fluctuation directly affects the livelihoods of these families.”
