In a letter to Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian, 35 journalists asked him to provide the conditions for the return of journalists and people who still have a heart for Iran and believe in territorial integrity and have not been associated with subversives and foreigners in recent years. The text of this letter is as follows:

Mr. Masoud Pezeshkian
Honorable President

Greetings and respects,

You are aware that over the past years, many Iranian citizens have been forced to emigrate for various civil and political reasons, and in undesirable circumstances, and have settled far from their homeland and in another country against their will. Many of them have a heart for their homeland and while they have been critical of what is happening in the country, they have not been in line with the currents or governments that have pursued inflammatory approaches such as sanctions or military intervention against Iran. They have respected territorial integrity and have mainly emphasized reforming affairs. Living in exile is painful and bitter for these people, and as is evident from the evidence, many of them are thirsty to return to their homeland and continue living in their father's house. However, fear of possible consequences of return is seen as an obstacle to such a move.

We, the signatories of this letter, draw your attention to the fact that you have accepted the great responsibility of the presidency with the vote of the nation and with an emphasis on national consensus, and we request you, together with the honorable Head of the Judiciary, to make the appropriate arrangements for the return of Iranians, especially writers, journalists, and artists, who have a heart for the homeland and are afraid of the possible consequences of their return. Especially in the current sensitive situation of the country, this step will be an effective step in achieving national consensus and improving the public determination to deal with problems and crises. Wishing success and pride to Your Excellency and the great nation of Iran.
