Insulin-dependent diabetic patients, especially those with type 1 diabetes, have faced a serious problem of the shortage of the main novorapid insulin in the country's pharmacies. According to reports received from Abdi Media's companions, the original Novorapid insulin has been removed from the country's pharmaceutical market and its Iranian version has been replaced.
Patients have reported that domestically produced insulin, despite its similar appearance, is not effective. This shortage has forced patients to use up to five times the usual dose of the Iranian variant, but they are still unable to control their blood sugar. This condition increases the risk of serious diabetes complications, including kidney, heart and vision problems, and has brought patients to the brink of a crisis.
The Minister of Health and other relevant officials should pay attention to take immediate and practical action to supply the main novorapid insulin and solve the drug problem of diabetic patients before the irreparable complications of this shortage spread.
Some patients say that "we are under sanctions" is no longer an acceptable answer to this crisis and that we need more serious solutions.
