The Band-e Ali Khan Wetland is currently without water, and this situation is the direct result of ignoring the ecological water right and the failure to implement the resolutions of numerous meetings.
The drying up of the wetland has been a combined result of reduced precipitation, drought, and heavy water withdrawals upstream.
Even if winter precipitation occurs, the first priority will be the water supply for the wheat and barley farms, and the wetland is practically not a priority.
