Transferring Taleghan water to Tehran/A temporary solution to the capital's unprecedented drinking water crisis
Two basic tasks need to be done regarding Tehran and all metropolitan cities where the share of drinking water is increasing.
Deputy Director of Human Environment of the Environmental Protection Agency in an interview with Tasnim:
There are two basic things to do about Tehran and all the metropolises in which the share of drinking water is increasing.
One of these is related to reducing leakage in water supply and drinking water distribution network, although the percentage of leakage in Tehran is relatively lower, but still exists and should be reduced.
In Tehran, we consume about 1.5 billion cubic meters of water for agriculture. In the years when critical situations and resources are limited, why not reduce this to minimize water resources sustainability for people?
Unless we have proper management of water consumption in the country, projects such as Taleghani water transfer to Tehran are pouring water into the hole.
