Despite its technical capacity of more than tens of thousands of megawatts in the field of renewable energy, Iran

Somayeh Baghi, Rokna Reporter:

Despite having the technical capacity of over tens of thousands of megawatts in the field of renewable energy, Iran has only harnessed about 2,000 megawatts of this potential so far. The main reason for this lag is the neglect and lack of importance given to clean energy by officials over the past years. This situation has led to serious questions from public opinion regarding the reasons behind the slow development of clean energy and what the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SABA) is doing in this area.

Mohsen Tarz Talab, the Deputy Minister of Energy and the CEO of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization of Iran (SABA), explained the issue to Rokna, stating that financial constraints, investment barriers, and past challenges have resulted in the implementation of projects proceeding at a slower pace than expected.
