The spokesperson for Iran’s water industry stated that Lake Urmia is revivable.

 Eisa Bozorgzadeh, spokesperson for Iran’s water industry, said that Lake Urmia has become a symbol of the country’s mismanagement of water and agricultural resources and cannot be restored using past methods.

Reducing agricultural water consumption, taking low-yield lands out of cultivation, and providing alternative livelihoods for farmers are the only realistic solutions to save this valuable ecosystem.
