15 years of neglect; Water crisis and heavy costs of mismanagement

While the widespread dehydration in the country has become a serious crisis for the city and the village, the water expert Hojati, in an interview with * visit *, states:

Hojati emphasizes that the current crisis is not only limited to shortage of drinking water, but all water resources, including runoff, rivers, wetlands and groundwater, have been seriously analyzed, while poor management, unnecessary harvesting, and inaccurate policies in the face of reduced rainfall.

In his view, the management pattern of water harvesting in recent years has been completely wrong:

Hojati explicitly misrepresents the policy of agricultural self -sufficiency in Iran and says:

> "We had to admit that we were a dry country and that we cannot meet all agricultural needs from internal resources.  Now the return of this wrong route is costly;  "It has both social and economic costs."

He also considers a mistake in loading population in arid climates as one of the agents of the crisis, and examples of Isfahan's situation, with limited water resources, the second dense population region of the country.

Hojati emphasizes that both the government and society are to blame, but the pressure of reform should not be on the consumer only.  Education, social participation, and compensatory decisions, such as supporting farmers or workers affected by industry closures, are part of the requirements of sustainable water management.

In the end, he reminds that although a lot of time is lost to managing, there is still a chance to make up for it.
