Unfortunately, we learned that Ibrahim (the prophetic judge) ended his life. Mr. Nabavi was 64 years old at the time of his death.

Mr. Nabavi's daughters announced in a statement: "We would like to inform our friends and acquaintances that our father, Seyyed Ebrahim Nabavi, took his own life last night in Silverspring, Maryland.

Our father had been depressed and homesick of Iran for the past decade, and the impossibility of living in his homeland had placed a heavy burden on his shoulders. He died while he was never able to cope with his forced stay away from Iran.

Ebrahim Nabavi was one of the journalists and satirists who left Iran in the early 2000s after being convicted in court and later announced his intention to return to Iran, but this did not happen.

He worked in many publications and newspapers in the 1980s and 1990s, and his satire resulted in several books. /Journalists' Club
