A man who assaulted a little girl was sentenced to death by the judges of the Tehran Provincial Criminal Court. The accused, a 33-year-old athlete, assaulted a 12-year-old girl from Afghanistan.
The girl's mother said: "I separated from my husband a few years ago. We had three children. The kids stayed with me. I worked in Iran and paid for my children until I met the accused's family and my children and I were supposed to live in their house and I did the housework.
The man was using drugs. I also took drugs with him sometimes and did all the housework. Until the day of the incident my daughter came in a state of confusion and said she had been raped. He wasn't in good shape at all. I was out shopping that day when this happened.
