Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei has been elected as the third Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the vote of the Assembly of Experts.

The Secretariat of the Assembly of Experts issued the following announcement:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Noble and free nation of Islamic Iran, may God’s peace and blessings be upon you.

The Assembly of Experts, while expressing its condolences on the martyrdom of the great leader, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei (may God sanctify his pure soul), and other esteemed martyrs—especially the high-ranking and selfless commanders of the Armed Forces and the students of the Shajareh Tayyibah school in Minab County—and condemning the brutal aggression of the criminal United States and the wicked Zionist regime, hereby informs that immediately following the news of the martyrdom and heavenly ascension of the wise and sagacious leader of the Islamic Revolution, despite the acute conditions of war, direct threats by enemies against this popular institution, and the bombing of the Secretariat offices of the Assembly of Experts which resulted in the martyrdom of several staff members and the security team, this Assembly did not hesitate for a single moment in the process of electing and introducing the leadership of the Islamic system.

In accordance with the duties stipulated in the Constitution and the internal regulations of the Assembly of Experts, the necessary measures and arrangements for holding an extraordinary session and introducing the new leader were placed on the agenda. Consequently, appropriate planning and necessary coordination were carried out for the gathering of the honorable representatives of this Assembly from across the country so that, despite the prudent provisions in Article 111 of the Constitution for the formation of a temporary council, the country would not face a leadership vacuum.

The Assembly of Experts, honoring the lofty status of the Guardianship of the Jurist (Wilayat al-Faqih) during the era of the occultation of the Imam of the Age (may God hasten his noble reappearance) and acknowledging the importance of leadership in the system of the Islamic Republic, commemorates 47 years of wise governance based on the principles of dignity, independence, and authority by the two Imams of the Revolution. While honoring the memory of those divine and popular leaders, the Assembly announces that after meticulous and extensive deliberations and utilizing the capacity of Article 108 of the Constitution, in accordance with its religious duty and belief in the presence of Almighty God, it has, in today's extraordinary session, appointed and introduced **Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei (may God protect him)** as the third Leader of the holy system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on the decisive vote of the honorable representatives of the Assembly of Experts.

In conclusion, while expressing gratitude to the members of the temporary council under Article 111 of the Constitution, the Assembly invites the entire noble nation of Iran, especially the elites and scholars of the seminaries and universities, to pledge allegiance to the leadership and maintain cohesion around the axis of the Velayat, and prays for the continued grace and favor of the Almighty upon this country and its great people.
