Morteza Alaviri, a prominent reformist figure, stated:

"The governments of Ahmadinejad and Raisi have unfortunately proceeded in a populist and people-pleasing manner, moving in lockstep with one another; therefore, I cannot prioritize one over the other.

As we progressed, the range of disqualifications broadened while the scope of approvals narrowed! The disqualification of Mr. Alavi, who has served both as Minister of Intelligence and a member of Parliament, is astonishing.

In the first parliamentary elections, one of my rivals was a cleric and the other was a member of the Tudeh Party. The electoral law has turned into a court of inquisition for candidates.

The term "lack of qualification" is a made-up phrase. There is a clear sense of estrangement and disengagement between the people and the ballot box. The turnout in the twelfth parliamentary elections will not exceed 30%.

I am going through the hardest days of my life. The only way to save the country is to reform the course by the ruling authority. Transformation through dialogue with elites and reliance on a real ballot box is possible.

I have no doubt that a specific movement seeks minimal participation. The country's economy has become a hostage to foreign policy."
