With the votes of 198 members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf was elected as the Speaker of the Twelfth Parliament in the first session.

Mojtaba Zulnoori received 60 votes.

Manouchehr Mottaki received 5 votes.

Out of a total of 287 votes cast.

Additionally, Hajir Babai became the First Deputy Speaker of the Twelfth Parliament, while Ali Nikzad was elected as the Second Deputy Speaker.

- Hamid Reza Hajibabaei: 175 votes  
- Ali Nikzad: 169 votes  
- Abdolreza Mosri: 115 votes  
- Hossein Ali Hajidelighani: 96 votes  
- Hamid Rasai: 35 votes  
- Mousa Ghazanfari Abadi: 16 votes  

The number of invalid votes was 2.
