Later, in March 2016, following the death of Sheikh Abbas Vaez-Tabasi, a long-time friend of Ayatollah Khamenei, who personally traveled to Mashhad to attend the funeral, he entrusted Seyyed Ahmad Alamolhoda with the responsibility of representing the Supreme Leader in the province.
On April 7, 2005, Ayatollah Khamenei appointed Seyyed Ahmad Alamolhoda as the Friday Prayer Leader of Mashhad.
