Greetings,

I have not expressed any opinion for or against this law, or its implementation or non-implementation.

However, I must clearly state that the reason I republished parts of the one-and-a-half-hour interview of His Excellency Dr. Qazi Amin Toiserkani—with these beautiful remarks and expert critiques and structural analysis—on Abdi Media, while respecting his knowledge and the diversity of opinions and views republished by him, is that:

I cannot comprehend how this judge, with this background—from being a deputy prosecutor and investigator at the Prosecutor's Office for Government Employees, to handling cybercrimes and serving in the Criminal Court 2—with 25 volumes and nearly 5,000 pages of investigation and documents, approved and confirmed the final orders to dismiss charges against the other defendants of the Zavieh Financial Group, and came to believe that all those acts were carried out or not carried out solely by Mohsen Eskandari-Nia? And even acquitted Mohsen Eskandari-Nia himself of the majority of the charges!?

His arguments are, of course, detailed in the court's verdict. The acquittal or conviction of the sole defendant in this case is not my primary concern; the criterion is the verdict of the final issuing court.

But as I said, it is a great wonder to me that even he, with all this claim of independence, really had no questions about the issuance of the final order to dismiss charges by investigator Mohammad Nargesian, after extensive investigations inside and outside the country and at the national level, against the other defendants, with the justification of lack of evidence? Not even to the extent of neither confirming nor overturning the investigator's order, but at least requesting clarification from the prosecutor's office or ordering supplementary investigations regarding parts or all of the contents of the complainants' objections to the orders to dismiss charges?

Can it be believed, in normal circumstances and given the dimensions and controversies of this major case, that he was truly convinced and confirmed and made the order final against those defendants?

That verdict, and this action and judicial interpretation, from a judge with this background and that perspective, seems unlikely, indeed very unlikely.
