"Reformers and hope for Pezeshkian

I write this article with complete reluctance and I have promised myself that this will be my last article about the elections;  But not saying these words really puts pressure on my soul.  Some words should be said at the time and their expression has no value in the future.

 I am surprised that the reformists are committing the same mistake of Rouhani's era in a more acute form.  In the second term of Rouhani, the reformists were in the truest sense of the word;  They had no way back, no way forward;  They did not have ears to hear at the top, nor eyes at the bottom to see them, and they were mostly to blame for this situation.  They had given Rouhani a blank check without any guarantees, and now they could not put any pressure on Rouhani, except to watch the government's actions.  This inaction of the reformists made their voters more angry year by year, but they could not do anything because there was no organic and systematic link between the cleric and the reformists.  Based on the temporary electoral benefits, a verbal coalition was formed between people and nothing else!  The result was that a number of reformers had reached mid-level administrative positions, and if the society grumbled and had a demand, they would say "Hey!"  Rouhani does whatever he can.

Again the same costly and useless arrangement is repeating itself: there is no organic bond between the medical men and the reformers. Again, they hand over a blank check to the candidate, and tomorrow that candidate wants any turn and has no reason to answer. The day after the victory in the elections, the reformists will have no mechanism to participate in their decisions and opinions within the government, except that again a number of members attributed to the reforms are here and there the people work again and close the society again so that the government can do its work. If you make a fatal mistake twice, it's not the government's fault, it's your own fault.

On the other hand, I see that some of our dear Turkmen compatriots are voting for Mr. Bizikian because of their identity and linguistic or provincial interest. I don't have a meter and measure how reliable this agent is. If a dear fellow countryman wants to vote for Mr. Medzikian in this election, he has a privilege and his opinion is respected - although he wants my opinion, putting such things does not count as moving forward; There is no progress; It is regression.

But if the reformers have closed their eyes to this fact, or if they are much worse, attached to such a possibility, it is a complete contradiction. Reformism is a national-social project (of course, its social aspect is much more). That is, there must be a strong social body with the same civic goal behind a strong cadre so that we can get somewhere. If Aziz Hamawatani votes for Mr. Bizikian based on the choice of language and province, it has nothing to do with the ideas of the reformist project. This means that the reformists think that they will go to war with others.

The main strategy of the reformists - when they were at the peak, not during the uncertain and lackluster Rouhani era - is summed up in the theory of "bargaining from above - pressure from below". When a majority of the voting body has voted for doctors belonging to people different from the reformers, it means that there is no common ideal. How can the election of this heterogeneous body of people help the reformers of tomorrow to create their ideas when they are not concerns at all!? This means "the foundation of your strategy is weak". If you don't see this lameness, woe betide you, if you see it and don't face it, woe betide us all!

During Rouhani's era, there was pressure from below and no bargaining at the top, in this period there was no pressure from below (the pressure of the reformists' opinion... maybe there are other pressures that God knows what) and no bargaining at the top! This show is not measured by the reformists. Now, 27 years after Khordad 1976, I look back with little political and historical literacy, and I see these emotional and ill-considered movements in their general behavior - although it is never denied.

At this point, if anyone is concerned about reforming and improving the existing situation, it should be the electoral mechanism, they should ask what happened that made it difficult and that did not happen... What is the story, where are we and what are you doing? Not that he jumps recklessly into every hole he thinks. When you are stuck in the day and you don't have a solution, you either question the level of understanding of the society or avoid accountability by pretending to be oppressed.

But as I said, this is my last word with you and my last word in this election.
