Technical Defects and Flight Cancellations: Passengers Stranded and Chaos in Iran's Skies / Civil Aviation Organization to Respond

 Somayeh Baghi, Rokna correspondent: The statistics published about the technical defects of planes in the last year indicate that the country's aviation industry is not in a desirable situation, and on average, every month and in recent months, more than 3 times a month (27 cases in 2024), a domestic or international flight has been forced to make an emergency landing due to a technical malfunction.

Of course, these statistics have been officially published and are separate from the cancellations of domestic flights and even cases that are not reflected in the news and most of the passengers on the planes face it every day. This issue can be considered a major alarm in this industry and can lead to unfortunate events.

Therefore, the Civil Aviation Organization must respond explicitly and transparently to the increase in technical defects of planes and flight cancellations, especially domestic ones, in recent months, and the lack of serious attention to air transportation and the protocols that planes must follow in order to obtain a license or after a technical malfunction.
