[Mr. Witold Smidowski], the new Polish Ambassador, came. Most of the discussion was about the relations between the two countries, and he said that a group of Polish forces in Afghanistan have taken responsibility for clearing the mine-contaminated areas of Bagram and have so far suffered three casualties. He said the situation in Afghanistan is not good. He wanted to know Iran's view on the issues in Iraq. I said we are not satisfied with Saddam [Hussein]'s regime, but America's good intentions cannot be trusted either. America thinks about its colonial interests, which are contrary to the interests of the people of Iraq and the region.

Mr. Mohammad Reza Mofatteh came to say goodbye and consult about his new responsibility, which is the Consulate in Milan, Italy. He said there are 10,000 Iranians in Milan, and the bulk of Iran's economic relations with Italy are in this region.

He said that in his last training session, he had lifted 260 kg, and with reliance on God, he added three kilograms to that in the competition, even though they usually lift a few kilograms below their training limit in competitions. It was announced in America that [George] Bush, [the President], has ordered the CIA to assassinate the leaders of anti-American terrorist groups wherever and whenever, which is a scandal for America. Also, the smallpox vaccine program for the American people has caused great concern among the American populace.
